Treating a pigmented lesions with pulsed light results in heating the
melanin. The damaged lesion is then naturally sloughed as the skin
exfoliates. Similar results the are seen in the treatment of Vascular
lesions. The absorption of the light in oxyhemaglobin,
deoxyhemoglobin and the vascoconstriction the damage to the
vessel lining all of which contribute to degeneration and
disappearance of any visible vessels leaving a fresh and even skin
tone.
